Client portal
Client Portal for Tax & Accounting Firms
One branded login where clients upload documents, sign returns, check status, and pay invoices — instead of a scattered mix of email threads and file-share links.
A single, branded home for every client
Instead of clients juggling email attachments, a separate e-sign tool, and a payment link from three different vendors, they get one portal that looks and feels like your firm. It's the front door to your practice — not a login screen for someone else's software.
Secure document upload and e-sign in one place
Clients see exactly what's outstanding on their document checklist and upload directly against each item. When it's time to sign — an engagement letter or Form 8879 — they do it from the same portal, through a secure link, without hunting for a separate email or tool. Everything lands back on the client's record automatically.
How clients get access
Getting a client into the portal is a short, controlled process — not an open signup form.
- 1
Invite
Your firm sends the client a portal invite from Journey.
- 2
Set a password
The client sets their own password — no shared or firm-issued credentials.
- 3
Accept legal consent
Before reaching the dashboard, the client accepts your firm's portal terms and the two separate §7216 consents required to use or disclose their return information — each a distinct, affirmatively signed screen, not a bundled checkbox.
Built on per-firm isolation and encryption
Every record in Journey — clients, documents, invoices, signatures — is scoped by firm with row-level security enforced at the database layer, so one firm's data is never reachable from another's. Client data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, and portal access can be revoked immediately if a client relationship ends.
