Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Secord Fintech Inc. ("Journey.tax") handles information in connection with the Journey.tax platform (the "Service"). It distinguishes Journey.tax's role as controller for firm-user account information and as processor/service provider for client data submitted by firms.

Information we collect

Firm account information. When firm personnel register and use the Service, we collect account details such as name, email address, role, authentication identifiers, and usage metadata. Journey.tax is the controller of this information.

Firm-submitted client data. Firms upload and submit personal data and tax return information about their clients through the Service. Journey.tax processes this client data only on the firm's behalf as a processor and service provider, as further described in the Data Processing Addendum.

Technical data. Server logs, device and browser identifiers, IP addresses, and security telemetry used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

How information is used

  • To provide, secure, and improve the Service.
  • To authenticate users and maintain audit trails.
  • To communicate with firm personnel about the Service.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Journey.tax does not use client data submitted by firms for its own purposes and does not use it to train third-party AI models.

Sharing

Journey.tax does not sell personal information. We share data only with subprocessors that help operate the Service and with legal authorities where required by law. Current subprocessors include Supabase for cloud hosting and database services in the United States. The full list is maintained in the Data Processing Addendum.

Security

Journey.tax maintains an information security program with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards consistent with the FTC Safeguards Rule and IRS Publication 4557, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication for administrative access, time-limited signed URLs for document access, logging, and monitoring.

Retention

We retain firm account information for as long as the account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations and to resolve disputes. Client data is retained on the firm's instructions and deleted in accordance with the Data Processing Addendum upon termination.

Your choices and rights

Firm personnel may update account information within the Service or by contacting their firm administrator. Individuals whose data has been submitted by a firm should contact that firm to exercise rights regarding their data; Journey.tax will support firms in responding to such requests as required.
